Hanging Up the Headphones
Attention loyal listeners: Sheri Logan has left the building
As one half of WRAL MIX 101.5's wildly successful morning team, Bill & Sheri in the Morning, most of the Triangle area and eastern North Carolina woke up with Logan at some point during her 12-year tenure. Trading witty banter for the carpool lane, she's taken early retirement to become a full-time mom.
Logan's last day at WRAL has come and gone, and she is still winding down from the ride. She recalls an abundance of activity on her last day, with a litany of well wishers including Governor Beverly Purdue, former Governor Michael Easley, Coach Mike Krzyzewski of Duke University, Ira David Wood, the head of Duke Children's Hospital and lots of TV-5 people.
"They gave me a very sweet and elaborate sendoff. Much more elaborate than I would have liked," says Logan, 44. "I just wanted to say goodbye and then go take a nap," she laughs. Only a select few knew that she was leaving the morning show until listeners found out in December 2008.
